Writing mindlessly

 Dear diary,

It's been a while. I'm so sorry I abandoned you for so long. I didn't mean to, but I was truly snowed under tight schedules. Everything has been so chaotic ever since the beginning of the year, and I don't seem to have a split second for a mental break. I had to prepare lesson plans (which I actually dropped because I just hate this book so much).  I was engaged into projects which I was reluctant to stay.

I recently have submitted my application for the FSU, and Purdue is the next destination. I should spend some time revising my statement of purpose for Purdue.

Hey I feel like the GRE actually improves lots of my vocabulary, and I could find the right word to describe the right action, or feeling which I never realized there was such a word. Reading more seems to help a lot, but I am under considerable pressure, so I can't really read with pleasure. I recently picked up "Atomic Habit" as a new read, and so far I've been enjoying it. I am trying to take up something worthwhile. I want to expand, to enlarge my vocabulary, and I don't want to stay this way. I've got to do something different , even if it's a small one. Otherwise, I will feel so numb and and devolved.

I have no idea why I am keying these words, but I start to feel interested in how we can change a word to another part of speech and it becomes an advanced word. I'm experimenting these words and having so much fun with the language. It's sad that the Vietnamese language haven't got the very same investment as English.

Anyway, I learned a new word called slacktivism, which is a portmanteau of slack and activism. The word indicates the action that lack the real action but instead a virtual, invisible support such as post-sharing, hitting a react button, hashtagging etc. This is what we mostly do nowadays which never seems to change anything, but hey, at least this is better that real activism which might disrupt the peace, and annoy the people around.

Right, freewriting time's over. Great job, Nguyen, you did review and build up your vocabulary today! Keep it up!
